Michael Gentry, D.V.M,
Veterinarian Emeritus

Dr. Gentry is a native Kentuckian who earned a B.S. in Chemistry and Agriculture from Western Kentucky University. He graduated from Auburn University in 1969. Dr. Gentry practiced large animal medicine in Western Kentucky for a year and a half before moving to Lexington, where he began his small animal practice.

In 1989 Dr. Gentry, along with his partner Dr. Todd Marcum purchased Sheabel Animal Medical Center. Sheabel is a well established Veterinary Practice with a long standing reputation for providing excellence in Pet Care in the Bluegrass Region. Through the years, Sheabel has changed and expanded to keep pace with the time and to anticipate changes within the Veterinary community and the needs of clients.

Dr. Gentry has been tireless in supporting the community through his contributions to the Lexington Humane Society, AA Emergency Clinic, and the Lexington K-9 Unit. His contributions to the Veterinary community have been significant.

Now retired, Dr. Gentry continues to contribute in an advisory capacity to Sheabel.
Dr. Michelle Jude graduated from Campbellsville University in 2000.  She worked as a technician here at Sheabel before going to Veterinary School at Auburn University.  She completed a one year internship at Kansas State University.

She is married to Steve Jude and they have two daughters named Hailey and Peyton.  They also have a dog named X.L. and two cats named Shea Belle and Sweet Pickles.
Dr. Jude enjoys spending time with her family and her career.
Dr. Lori Eidson graduated from Transylvania University in 2004 and continued on to Auburn University  College of Veterinary Medicine.  A native of Madison Co, Dr. Eidson is excited to get back into the Bluegrass to be near family and friends.  She is married to Patrick and together they have four furry children--Emily and Abby (beagles), Molly (a lab rescue from vet school), and Jack (and orange tabby).  Dr. Eidson is an active member of her church and the Junior League of Lexington.  She enjoys volunteering in the community and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Mara Wendel received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Cornell University in 2005. She then returned home to Ames, Iowa to attend veterinary school at Iowa State University. After graduation, she moved to Lexington to work at Rood and Riddle as an equine veterinarian for two years before joining Sheabel.

In her spare time she enjoys running with her dog, Jack, cooking, and spending time with friends.  She played polo while at Cornell, and enjoys watching polo and other events at the Kentucky Horse Park, and riding her horse, Ren. Dr. Wendel is excited to call Lexington home now, and looks forward to caring for Sheabel's clients and their pets.
